Seller rating Vs Product reviews

I am working with a Amazon seller that has alot of product reviews but hardly any seller reviews.
Does this make a huge amount of difference? Or is the goal to just pursue product ratings?
Would be great to hear advice.
Seller ratings are only really valuable for resellers competing for the buy-box. For owners of their own brand the value goes down.
They are still essential for maintaining account health, but not so much for actually improving a products sales.

I am looking at ways to help a brand owner increase sales on amazon, clearly it's better to focus on product reviews and excellent listings (price point too).
